So, we talked a lot about our trip. And our plans. And the circle we keep going around in…
And we have made a decision. House goes on the market. In April 2013.
Here is what we have to accomplish before then:
- Finish the house fix-it to-do list, which has at least 30 things on it.
- Obsess and find our new home – whether that is buying/living on a boat (in which case, we need to find a marina), or living in an area near boats (to keep shopping and saving) – we need to figure out where we want to go once our house sells.
- Learn a foreign language (Spanish is my choice)
- Minimize our furnishings, de-clutter our lives, get ourselves ready to live with less.
- Matt to get ASA 101, 103, 104 certified. Michelle to get ASA 101.
- Go on at least 3 sailing trips – chartering a boat to practice sailing – getting used to boat environment.
- Continue to follow our “get out of debt” plan and get 10 months closer to being debt-free.
There is probably more… but these are the big ones that I can think of right now.
Is there something you did before you left the comforts of your home to prepare you for a life of travel? Let us know!
