If you can’t tell, we would start this adventure NOW if we had the funds to do so… we read every blog, book, magazine we can find about cruising, we are planning our vacations this year (two – one to Miami this summer, and one to Annapolis in October) so that we can look at boats and dream about cruising… heck, Matt is even starting to talk as if we are already living on a boat! But, we have 3+ years before we will actually be cruising – and that seems so far away.
And as much as we want to go NOW, I’m reminded that I currently go to the grocery store every week to buy a WEEK’s worth of food and fill TWO FULL-SIZE refrigerators and a pantry that I venture to guess is a 4’x8′ room. How will we ever squeeze a family of 6 onto a boat? We live in a 3500 sf home, do at least 10 -15 loads of laundry every week, and somehow expect life to be “easier” on a boat? Do we really like each other that much? haha…
Biggest questions I have right now:
- Seriously – where will keep food for 6?
- Laundry? Do we just not wash as often? Do we just not care if we’ve worn the same clothes for a week?
- Will we ever feel clean?
- Will my kids magically transform into children who listen? and stop whining?
- Where is the timeout spot? (kidding. sort of.)
- How the heck will I be able to teach 4 different grades of school? Without going loony?
- Why do I think the kids will listen to me as a teacher vs. me as the mom?
- Will I ever have “me” time? When? How often? (Okay, I don’t really have that now. Does it even exist?)
- Do we buy sunscreen in bulk?
- Are there bugs? I don’t like bugs.
