This ecard popped in my head yesterday… it is funny because it is true. Before having kids, I thought I knew exactly what I would and wouldn’t do as a mom.  More specifically, things I wouldn’t do: give-in to whining, serve different food at meal times, have kids who act like that kid, allow my kids to have fits in grocery stores – I just knew that those parents, who allowed their kids to act like that, didn’t have a clue how to be a parent. BAHAHHAHAHAHAHHHH!

Of course, now that I am a parent, I think back at how ridiculous it is that I thought I wouldn’t turn out like other parents. I do every single one of those things. Of course I do. Sometimes we need a break and say yes to the whining kid because GOOD LORD FINE OKAY HAVE WHATEVER YOU WANT JUST STOP WHINING!

So what does this have to do with traveling the world? I decided we are SOOO the “people without kids who think they know what it will be like to be a parent” in regards to traveling the world. haha.  We think we know what we will or won’t do, what it will or won’t be like, what we need or don’t need… and I am sure once we actually start traveling we will look back at these moments and laugh our asses off at how ridiculous we were. We have no clue.

Would love to hear from those who are traveling… what one thing were you so sure about that turned out to be the exact opposite of what you thought?
